Extra Subst - program designed to make access to frequently used folders of your computer easier.​

It is also used to create, edit and remove virtual drives of your computer. Extra Subst creates virtual drives on the basis of selected folders. Physical drives remain unchanged and are not divided into additional partitions.

Program interface consists of three basic parts:

1. "Drive Explorer" - shows all used drives of your computer with necessary information about them. When you double-click on selected drive, "Explorer" with selected drive will be opened. In this part of the program interface you can also remove selected virtual drives with the help of "Remove" button.

2. "Available Drives" - the list of available drives of your computer. This part of the program interface is used for creating virtual drive. When you select the disk and press the button "New" or double-click the selected drive a virtual drive is created in your system and the record about it is placed in the list "Start Up Virtual Drives".

3. "Start Up Virtual Drives" - the list of records about created in the operation system virtual drives. In this part of the program interface you can adjust the list of drives initialized during start up of your computer.

TwistedBrush has always been known for its powerful and vast collection of brushes. The same is true for Pixel Studio. The program includes a collection of brushes designed just for pixel art.

Choices are important in pixel art as in any art. Here are a few pixel drawing brushes:

1. Pure pixel brush. Solid pixels are panted everywhere the cursor goes. This is a dab placement brush. Rather than drawing a line, a square or circle are drawn.

2. Anti-alias pure pixel. Same as previous but the pixels edges are smoothed.

3. Pixel brush that draws as a connected line. This is a straight line brush, solid and anti-aliased.

A remembered powerful brush in Pixel Studio is the auto mask fill brush. Draw pixels within an enclosed area without worrying about going outside of the lines. Even change colors and your area is remembered because a mask is magically created for you behind the scenes.

The Color Management panel and the Brush Shortcut Panel are two panels you will use a lot. All the panels in Pixel Studio will automatically hide if they get in your way while painting. Manually hiding all panels is also possible with the F3 hotkey.

The Quick Command panel gives you a configurable array of buttons you can keep close at hand while working. Resize and reshape the panel to your needs. Add, remove and move buttons to create the layout that works best for you. Quickly show or hide the panel with the [F4] hotkey. Right click to edit a button or add one to an empty slot. [Ctrl] + click to drag a button to a new location. As an added bonus there is some functionality exposed in the Quick Command panel that isn't available anywhere else in Pixel Studio.

Since User ArtSets are available you might be thinking where will you get new brushes from. There are a number of ways, user shared brushes in the Pixarra forum, brushes imported from Pro Studio, OR now you can edit brushes right in Luminance Studio with the powerful Brush Effects system from Pro Studio. First an IMPORTANT NOTE: Editing brushes is NOT an easy task. There are over 500 different effects that can be combined in 28 effect layers with each effect processed with 100's of modifiers. I think it's safe to say the Pixarra brush effects system makes for the most powerful brush ee in existence. Evidenced in the ability to draw simple lines or fully detailed tree with the same ee with a single stroke as can be seen in Tree Studio.

One of the common ways to use the Brush Effects panel is to tweak existing brushes in small ways to meet your needs and you can do this right in Pixel Studio and save them to the User ArtSets.

In today's advanced age of music tools that seek the "cleanest", most "perfect" sounds, there has suddenly been a desire for the "Gritty" sounds of the machines of the past.

Once such quest has been the acquisition of old, primitive samplers and sample drum machines like the EMU SP1200, AKAI s900/950, and others. This has increased the rate of these machines to 10s of thousands of dollars.

The sound that producers and artists seek in these boxes is usually the low bit rates and sample rates resulting in an "aliased" sound or "artifacts" as we now call them. These limitations of the vintage machines have now become very desired and sought after sound. Just sample rate reduction and "Bit crushers" have yet to actually sound like old machines.

Our team at Beatskillz went on a quest to study the actual circuitry and found each and every step right from the A/D converters, preamps, analog and digital filters and processes involved to recreate each stage and bring you a plugin that can not only emulate a sampler but many, and also lets you design your own sampler or vintage chip!

The Sample Rate Interpolation system that we have built in DSP, lets you dial in any sample rate from 96 kHz to 2 kHz. You can also " type " in the values!

We have also done a very accurate emulation of a well-known Ladder Filter with Resonance, this gets you the "Warm" Filter sound of a very desired analog synth. We have also carefully emulated the input drive of the S900 to give you all the parameters needed for multiple variations of the sound!

Basic steps for using E-mail Tray Notification:

If you want to start E-mail Tray Notification every Windows starts checkmark the 'Run automatically E-mail Tray Notification on Windows startup'.

Select an audio device through which the audio notification will play.

Add at least 1 e-mail account with clicking on 'Add new e-mail account' button, fill in your account's settings. Using 'SSL/TLS' for 'Connection security' is recommended.

After entering the server and login options click on 'Test connection' to check if the parameters entered are ok. If connection is succesful click 'Save'.

Add at least 1 detection for incoming e-mails item with clicking on 'Add new e-mail notification'. Te get notifications for every incoming e-mail leave the 'sender' and 'subject' fields empty. Set the type of notification(s) to get at the bottom part of the window. Click 'Save'.

To test the setup click on 'Check for incoming e-mails now' on the main window.

Click on 'Close' at the bottom-right part of the window, this will close the window but E-mail Tray Notification keeps running in the background.

When a message arrives the tray icon will flash. Double-click on it to open the system default e-mail client. Clicking on the balloon hint, when it appears, also launches the default e-mail client. If audio looping was specified click once on the tray icon to stop the playback.

To always show the tray icon (obviously) click on the arrow to the left of the tray icons Windows displays, select 'Customize...', look for the E-mail Tray Notification icon and adjust it to 'Show icon and notifications', so the tray icon is always visible.
